Hero’s Journey Stages 1-4

Hero stage 1 is the ordinary world, the hero’s get taken out of their ordinary world to something new. For example in Bleach, Ichigo Kurosaki, is taken to the soul society which is different from his normal Kakura town.

Hero Stage 2 is the call to adventure. The call of adventure is someone or some event that takes the hero to the adventure. In Bleach, Ichigo Kurosaki sees Rukia Kuchigi in his room searching for a hollow. The call to adventure occured when Ichigo’s sisters were in danger and Rukia offered to give him her powers to save them. That was the call. Texting and Driving

In 2008, 5,870 people died and more than a half-million were hurt in crashes involving a distracted or inattentive driver. I have composed a law, as congresswoman, that all cell phones in a car must be in a purse, bag, glove compartment, etc. Therefore the person would not text or pull out their phone unless at a complete stop. If a person is seen texting while driving they must pay a $50 fine and have their phone confiscated and cannot purchase another phone for 8 months. Hopefully this will have some affect on the many teenagers and sometimes even adults who text while driving. These drivers just don’t understand how much danger their lives or the lives of someone else will be put in because of texting while driving.

Texting and driving and drinking and driving aren’t very different. Both are very dangerous…obviously. Texting is distracting while drinking alcohol leaves the chemicals in your brain that impacts your reaction time to press your brakes and causes your vision to become blurry. Both can lead to the driver taking their own or someone else’s life. Texting while driving is easier to stop doing because no text is worth it.

My plan to reduce the level of texting while driving is if I’m in the car with a family member or friend I will handle all calls or texts, with permission of course, and keep their phone in my hands and give it back when we stop at a destination. When I get my license I will be a role model and never text while driving.

12th stage of the Hero’s Journey. The Return with the Elixir

This is the end of the hero’s journey, Stage 12: Return with the Elixir. There are important things to consider. The first thing is how is this return going change his ordinary world? Who needs to be punished and who will fight freedom? What will our hero learn about himself and the world?

In Disney’s Hercules, Hercules comes back home a hero instead of an outcast and regained his place with the gods.

In Transformer, Shia Labouf’s character comes back home with autobots and humans working together in his ordianry world.

The Hero’s Journey Stage 11- The Resurrection

When a hero experiences a ressurection or a rebirth, he becomes self aware. The hero must become aware of his/her own transformation which will the become the hero’s truth.\

The hero is considered the plot of this story.

The Hero’s Journey Stage 9- Reward

The hero has survived death and forever changed. It represents the heros oppurtunity to obtain what he has been seeking in the special world. The reward allows the hero to temporarily repreeve from the relentless pace of the story. There are several purposes for the reward. One is celebration.

The hero survives death and receives his prize. The hero is likely to celebrate. Such a scene can be used to cement certain relationships secure and character’s position within their social group. Perhaps it allows the hero to finalize a right of passage.

A recap and reflection reward is when the hero and his allies may gather around, wether it be a camp fire or resturaunt, so they could recap their experience. This could also produce things that could play an important role during the road back phase.

Romance: The chance are the hero has struggled proving himself willing of his heart’s desire until this point. More likely there has been little time for the long during this quest. Now that there’s little moments to breathe the hero might look to find love.

New Knowledge: Surviving death can change you perception on the world. The hero might gain new insights. With this he might see through characters that has been deceiving him, realize his destiny, or have a moment of clarity.

The downfall of reward is the hero seeing himself more valuable than he really is.
